Woman in her twenties selects yes to unpaid voluntary work in census after organising hens party

A Perth woman has felt validated while doing the census this morning, after selecting ‘yes’ when asked if she had completed any unpaid voluntary work in the last 12 months. Grace, 27, made the shock selection after reflecting on her Maid of Honour duties for a friends’ wedding in March, where she organised an elaborate hens party.

“I truly believe people who have planned a hens should be entitled to compensation,” she told MAANT. “The bride didn’t give me a budget, I had to add a bunch of her weird relatives on Facebook to add them to the event, and I ran into a colleague while I was buying dick straws.”

Grace, who has been single for four years, also admitted that she was pleasantly surprised by the census, as it was nice to be asked about herself for once.
